Resignation

Resignation is a formal process, so you need to put it in writing to the Resident Doctors Support Team, including your final working day. Once the Resident Doctors Support Team has received your letter, we will send you a formal acknowledgement.

Please note:

• Your Employment Agreement requires a notice period of three months before leaving.
• Formal notice of resignation is required from all RMOs with open ended agreements, including those who are transferring to other centres as part of a college rotation.
• Some RMOs from overseas will have fixed term Employment Agreements, so resignation is not required.

Note: If you are not sure whether or not you need to give formal notice of resignation, contact the Resident Doctors Support Team for advice.
